Position Summary:

The IT Systems Engineer is a pivotal role responsible for maintaining the operational integrity and security of our systems and network, reducing the need for support through system improvements, and providing technical support to our development team. This individual will ensure the seamless operation and maintenance of our IT infrastructure, proactively improve systems to minimize support tickets, and assist in the development and implementation of new technologies to enhance productivity and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Maintenance and Security (30%): Regularly update and maintain system and network hardware and software. Perform routine checks, backups, and redundancy tests to ensure system reliability and security.
  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting (25%): Serve as the primary technical support for our development staff and end users, identifying root causes and resolving issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Strategic Improvements (20%): Proactively identify areas for system improvements and enhancements. Work closely with the IT and development teams to implement solutions that reduce the need for support and enhance system performance.
  • Documentation and Training (10%): Maintain comprehensive documentation for system architecture, disaster recovery plans, and routine maintenance procedures. Develop and conduct training programs to enhance staff knowledge and adherence to cybersecurity policies.
  • Collaboration and Leadership (10%): Work closely with IT management and cross-functional teams to identify and integrate new technologies that align with business goals. Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative team environment.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in systems administration and IT support, with a strong background in system and network security.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to provide support for complex technical issues.
  • Familiarity with the latest IT technologies and trends, and the ability to apply these strategically to meet business objectives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of mentoring team members and working collaboratively with various departments.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects efficiently.
